Name:Evina McDowell
Age:Unknown, appears to be 10
Occupation:Student/Evangeline's apprentice and cousin, sometimes assists in teaching
Which school area:Mahora, and Evangeline's Mansion
Appearance:Evina has long blonde hair and green eyes. She wears a black robe with a black cape with a dimensional pocket. She secretly is a long-lost cousin of Evangeline McDowell and a Shinso (Day-Walker) vampire, but doesn't normally let on (unless someone's too pushy). Bored with having lived in Europe for centuries on her own, the rest of the clan gone or scattered, she has tracked down Evangeline to Japan, having heard from mysterious sources (actually a badly-wounded Fate Averruncus, who teleported in right in front of her, fainting in shock at apparently facing the foe who'd almost smashed him moments earlier in Kansai) about her activities in Mahora Academy. Thankful for the information, she let Fate go, reminding him he might have to face two Day-Walkers in the future. Having looked around, she liked the look of the place and decided to stick around in Negi's class. Hopes to someday be trained in the Dark Arts by her cousin, or at the very least stick around so she's not lonely ever again.
While she shares some personality traits with Evangeline, such as her cynical nature and a love of teasing humans, she's actually more studious and willing to mix with the other students. She doesn't take too well to a certain ermine's overly-suspicious nature, though (will he ever learn, after the way he once suspected Setsuna?).
She has now been accepted by Evangeline as a student, and looks forward to helping with Dark Magic classes, especially if it involves other undead students. She has persuaded Mahora's resident shy ghost, Sayo, to have a try, as she feels she might be an asset to defending the school from outside incursions.
Weapon: Black cloak. Allows her to shapechange into a bat or to fly. Her other "weapons" are the natural ones all vampires possess.
Magic: Not mainly a mage, she plans to grow in Dark magic and maybe elemental magic (considering who she might learn from, probably ice). She has recently learned some Shadow Magic, having found a spellbook in Library Island. She also has an unusual ability to overcome certain magic barriers designed to keep away vampires, much like Asuna's ability to overcome Evangeline's barrier. She might just be what Evangeline needs to protect herself from the attentions of a certain mage who has recently resurfaced.
Strengths: Unlike Evangeline, she is not confined to the Mahora Academy area, and her power is unimpaired, despite not being as powerful (at present) as her cousin in magic. Being a vampire, she is naturally telepathic, and tends to discover enemies' plans beforehand due to their exposing their surface thoughts. With Evangeline's help, she has founded the Mahora Defence League, consisting of students of the Dark Arts. Also, she is a strategic planner - she thinks before she acts in every situation (as evidenced in her confronting Thanatos because of her surname being similar to Fate's). When necessary, though, she has no mercy on those who hurt her friends or herself. She can wield a sword with great skill, favouring her Shadow Sword spell to create one immediately, a leftover from her times as an assassin under the influence of the East European warlord nobleman who turned her into his thrall for some centuries before being destroyed by a Dutch professor and his companions outside his castle in the Birgau pass.
Weaknesses: While immune to sunlight and holy symbols (not having ever been particularly religious), she dislikes the smell of Welsh onions and is vulnerable to having those she cares for threatened. Currently, that means Evangeline, the Chacha-units, Chisame (with who she's begun a curious friendship) and Negi, who, as Evangeline's assistant, she is charged to guard with her existence.
Quirks: Oddly social for a vampire (due to loneliness in the past). Also enjoys reading books of rather interesting nature, like Yue likes drinking very unusual drinks. Also can use shikigami in situations where she needs to be in more than one place at once (like Setsuna and Negi), learned from one of her books.
